Step, step, step, step, step, … dive!

Eilidh has just started learning to walk on her own and the video below documents her current record of 5 steps (replicated several times, but not yet beaten).

Other cool recent achievements include:

  • Signing for “milk”, “water”, “all done”, “nappy” and “no”
  • Trying to do the actions to “twinkle twinkle little star”, “if you’re happy and you know it” and “head, shoulders, knees and toes”
  • Going to bed at night without any complaints (we’re still working on day-time naps)
  • Growing 4 teeth (2 at the top, 2 at the bottom)
  • Responding obediently / cheekily to “No, Eilidh, no!”
  • Kissing (although less tongue would be nice)
  • Swimming whilst holding onto Mummy’s shoulders
  • Rocking out on her rocking horse…

Eilidh’s first birthday II

The weekend following Eilidh’s birthday, family from both sides of the border congregated in Northumberland for more birthday celebrations. Both sets of Grandparents, Great Grandad, Uncles, Aunts, Grand-Uncles and Grand-Aunts plus Grand-cousins all joined in the fun. We all had a great time and a car-full of presents to take back home with us.

Here’s a photo of those who were in attendance when Grand-Auntie Caroline unveiled her fantastic cake!

Eilidh’s first birthday

Eilidh was 1 on Monday. We can hardly believe it. The last year has just flown by. We all had a lovely day and Eilidh was a really lucky girl with many many lovely presents and cards.

We both took a day off work and took Eilidh to nearby West Lodge Farm Park where she stroked bunnies, sheep, goats and cows and saw loads of other animals too. She also got to ride on a mini train and a baby sized John Deere tractor (had to include a photo of this for Grandpa!).

At tea time we had some of Eilidh’s chums round for cake; the house was in utter chaos for about an hour! This photo was taken just before Eilidh decided that we were taking too long to cut the cake and tore off a corner for herself!

We all had a great day and it was a shame that we had to return to work/nursery on Tuesday.
