Jo at 19 weeks

We feel guilty that we’re not being very good scientists, by sampling at a different interval than in the previous lounge door experiment. Our only excuse, which is pretty lame, is that this time we have a toddler to run around after and the weeks are flying by way too quickly!

Anyway, here is how Jo looks at 19 weeks. Eeek, how did we get to nearly half way already?!

Round and Round and Ultrasound

Over the last week we’ve got some good video footage of both Eilidh and her new brother/sister, so we’ve uploaded it for you all to see. A new favourite activity for our crazy daughter is going round and round and one of our’s is to watch her. Hope you enjoy it too:

BabyII has had a more chilled out week with just a bit of a wriggle and a stretch and some time relaxing with his/her feet up:

Jo at 16.286 weeks…again

You may have followed the progress of the first competition between Jo and the lounge door when she was pregnant with Eilidh. Well, now we have the rematch. Jo is 16 weeks and 2 days pregnant and here’s how she measures up:

You can compare this with exactly the same point from last time, here.

Snow in Market Harborough

Eilidh’s had a rough couple of weeks with chicken pox and has just about recovered now, just in time for some fun in the snow.

She’s now confident at walking and can even manage trudging through the snow in her new wellies – at least snow is softer to fall into than the gravel path in the park!

Communication Skills

Understanding each other is becoming easier as Eilidh’s vocabulary increases in multiple modes:

Conventional words/sounds:
Da da (=daddy or mummy), down, ba ba, baaa (as in the sound a sheep makes), boo (after hiding), teddy, oo oo (monkey sound), rar (lion sound), bye bye, uh oh!, wow!

Eilish words:
Dee = red plastic spade, Duh Duh = bird, ah ah = banana, Duh Duh … Duh Duh = quick! I need the object I’m pointing to now!, boooo = cow sound, pu pu = pudding

BSL signs:
milk, water, biscuit, banana, raisins, more, all done, nappy, potty, dirty, socks, jacket, hat, shoes, swing, play, yes, no, sheep, cow, mouse, monkey, cat, dog, rabbit, goat, duck, bird, penguin, star, diamond, cold, hot, thank you, please, quickly, phone, car, mummy, daddy, baby, grandparent, teddy/bear, clap, Mr Tumble (her favourite TV show, well the only one she’s allowed to watch!), down, waving.

Eilish signs:
clap clap outstretched arms = I want a cuddle/picked up, waving = come on mummy and daddy we’re going now
