39 weeks into the rematch

Time is ticking on and we thought that we’d better take another photo of the rematch with the lounge door before it’s too late. Here’s Jo at 39 weeks and feeling pretty large.

All through the pregnancy Jo’s been determined that Eilidh shouldn’t suffer and, as a result, has continued to do as many things as she can with her such as swimming, Tumble Tots, soft play areas (although admittedly latterly this has required presence of Daddy too!), getting pushed off of the gym ball in the garden, play in the park…and so on. However, this last week Jo has finally had to admit that her body is telling her to slow down a bit and is taking it a bit easier (this conveniently fits in with the Leicestershire school summer holidays and so activities such as swimming and Tumble Tots are also having a summer break).

37.5 weeks

It’s great to get past the 37 week mark and know that the birth will no longer be classed as premature. The following picture was taken on Saturday (4th July) when Jo was approx 37.5 weeks. She’ll be 38 weeks tomorrow and really should get that hospital bag packed! At least we’ve now washed all the newborn sleepsuits and vests and the size 1 nappies…babyII no longer needs to be naked for the first few days!!

36 weeks

Here’s a photo of Jo versus the lounge door at 36 weeks into the rematch (not a lot of change since the last photo at 33 weeks):

By the looks of things, she’s not as big as she was at roughly the same stage into her pregnancy with Eilidh (original match).

33 weeks … eeek!

The time is flying by so quickly. Jo is keeping well but beginning to flag a bit in the evenings. She was also a bit slow in cycling home after swimming last weekend but we’re not sure if this was due to the pregnancy or the puncture we discovered later! Here’s how the rematch against the lounge door is going:

30 weeks gone in the rematch

Jo will be 30 weeks pregnant tomorrow. Here is a picture of how she’s faring against the lounge door:

For those of you who want to make an easy comparison against the last match, here’s where to find it.

Approaching 27 weeks

Uh oh- Jo continues to grow, even though there are 3 more months of growing to go. She is feeling a lot more kicking, too.
Glyn might also start feeling some kicking if he keeps up with the bad poetry…

Almost 23 weeks

We think that Jo is starting to show now, an old lady offered to give up her seat on a bus the other week! The size increase is not affecting Jo’s ability to play with Eilidh, she can still fit down slides but swings are becoming more challenging.

Jo at 19 weeks

We feel guilty that we’re not being very good scientists, by sampling at a different interval than in the previous lounge door experiment. Our only excuse, which is pretty lame, is that this time we have a toddler to run around after and the weeks are flying by way too quickly!

Anyway, here is how Jo looks at 19 weeks. Eeek, how did we get to nearly half way already?!

Jo at 16.286 weeks…again

You may have followed the progress of the first competition between Jo and the lounge door when she was pregnant with Eilidh. Well, now we have the rematch. Jo is 16 weeks and 2 days pregnant and here’s how she measures up:

You can compare this with exactly the same point from last time, here.
