40 weeks + 1 day

This was just before we went to hospital to see if Jo’s suspicions that her waters had broken were correct. They were. This is why this post is only going up now! More information is available in the forthcoming entry…

Jo grows

For those of you keeping an eye on the ‘Jo versus the lounge door’ posts you may have thought that Jo only owns one pair of jeans and one top…the video below shows that you may be right (there is evidence that she has at least two pairs of socks though).

39 weeks

Every week we think that there’s no way that Jo can get any bigger and the following week we’re proved wrong! Theoretically there’s one week to go but we now finish each day wondering if things will kick off tomorrow.

37 weeks … an exit is now legal!

Jo can’t quite get over how decidedly large she felt in the first face off with the lounge door at around 15 weeks, and also how she is still getting the same t-shirt to stretch over the protruding belly! Sleeping in has become the norm and, despite feeling a little bitter about this, Glyn has noticed some benefits such as home-made muffins, dinner when he gets home from work, and meals being cooked and frozen for when wor wee-un arrives.

35.5 weeks and competing well against the door

Jo finished work yesterday, well officially, although she still has a little more to do next week. Some of the comments in the department’s farewell speech included attributing the recent lift failures to Jo’s weight and the cutting back of kitchen staff due to the predicted fall in bacon roll sales (thanks Mark Norton!). It’s going to be pretty weird being a lady of leisure for a few weeks but she’s going to make the most of sleeping in whilst she can.

33.5 weeks

We’ve just had a weekend of NCT (National Childbirth Trust) classes and everything is starting to feel all the more real now. They were very good and we met some really cool people. Of the 6 couples there, wor wee-un is due last so it will be interesting to see at the class reunion if all have exited in their predicted order.

Jo at 32 weeks

Jo has grown somewhat in the last couple of weeks. It may be the bacon rolls that she gets ‘cravings’ for at work, the croissants and cakes she was forced to eat whilst in Aberdeen or maybe even it’s because wor wee-un is growing to be a canny size.

30 weeks

Jo’s coping fine apart from the odd bit of heartburn and having difficulty in putting on socks and shoes and getting off of the sofa. Poor Glyn is having more to deal with with Jo’s hormones and her snoring!

29 weeks

Wor wee-un is still getting bigger and more active. Jo played in her last piping competition on Sunday as the next one is not until the start of September and that might be pushing it, literally!

28 weeks, end of 2nd trimester

We think that it might now be noticable that Jo is pregnant, train staff keep offering her seats in first class!
